Horstedt is a municipality in Lower Saxony in the Sottrum municipality in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district with 1,319 inhabitants.

Community structure

The districts of Clünder, Horstedt, Stapel and Winkeldorf belong to the community. The former communities of Stapel and Winkeldorf were incorporated on March 1, 1974.

Stapel was first mentioned in a document in 1230. To mark the 777th anniversary of the town in 2007, the book “Stapel - Streifzüge through the present and past of a Geestdorf” was published, which is also available on the Internet.
