Al-Qisas ( Arabic القصص, DMG al-Qiṣaṣ  'The Stories'; 'The Stories') is the 28th sura of the Koran , it contains 88 verses . The title is taken from the 25th verse of the sura. Most of the sura was revealed in Mecca , with the exception of verse 85, which is dated to the time of the emigration from Mecca to Medina , and verses 52–55, which are said to have been written in Medina.

In terms of content, the sura concentrates on reports about the life of Moses . Mention is made of his childhood at the court of Pharaoh , his flight to Midian ( Arabic مَدْيَن madyan ) after he had slain a man in an argument, as well as his dispute with the rich and haughty Qārūn, who iscalled Korach in the Bible . In addition, the sura contains edifying reflections and admonitions to the address of unbelievers who refuse to accept the message of the Koran.
