Ziegelsdorf is a district of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The village is located two kilometers northeast of Grabow , on the western edge of the 25,063 hectare and very wooded landscape protection area (LSG) Möckern-Magdeburgerforth . The border of the LSG runs in a north-south direction right through the town. The area extends in a southerly direction to the town of Möckern, which is around 14 km (as the crow flies). The entire area of the local LSG is part of the Burg-Ziesarer Vorfläming natural area and belongs to the Fläming .

history

The first mention of the place can be found in a document from January 6, 1306, in which the sale of Grabow by the cathedral chapter of Magdeburg was confirmed. At that time, however, the place was called Ikendorp . In the border treaty between Albrecht and Joachim I of October 28, 1533, the same village is then called Tygelsdorf . Later documents then report about the Ziegelsdorf manor.

In 1847 Ziegelsdorf was listed in the "Topographical-Statistical Handbook of the Prussian State". The place included a manor, a brick factory, the Telegraph No. 11, 6 houses and 55 souls.

On September 30, 1928, the Ziegelsdorf manor district was combined with the Grabow rural community. With the incorporation of Grabow to Möckern on January 1, 2010, the district came to Möckern.

Attractions

Replica of the telegraph pole

On the western edge of the town there has been a true to the original and fully functional nine meter high replica of a telegraphic transmission device for information since 2011. The so-called telegraph belonged to the Prussian telegraph line and was station 11 on the route from Berlin to Coblenz in the Rhine Province from 1833–1849 .

traffic

From Grabow in the southwest, the most important road connection, the district road  1002, leads into the village and ends here. It is just under ten kilometers to the nearest junction no. 75 on federal motorway 2 near Theeßen . The district town of Burg in the Jerichower Land district can be reached via state road 52 after a good eleven kilometers. The shortest route into the city of Möckern is around 16 km, almost exclusively via district roads.
