Carl C. Anderson

Carl Carey Anderson (born December 2, 1877 in Bluffton , Ohio , †  October 1, 1912 in Fostoria , Ohio) was an American politician . Between 1909 and 1912 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In 1881, Carl Anderson moved with his parents to Fremont , where he attended public schools. Later he worked as a traveling dealer. He then moved to Fostoria, where he made underwear. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1905 and 1909 he was mayor of the city of Fostoria. He was president of the local hospital committee and director of several craft businesses.

In the congressional elections of 1908 , Anderson was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 13th  constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Republican Grant E. Mouser on March 4, 1909 . After being re-elected, he could remain in Congress until his death on October 1, 1912 . That day he died in a car accident near Fostoria. He was buried in Fremont.
