Daniel Scofield Earhart (born May 28, 1907 in Columbus , Ohio , † January 2, 1976 there ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . From 1936 to 1937 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for 23  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

biography

Daniel Scofield Earhart was born in the capital of Ohio, Columbus. He attended the public general education schools there. At Ohio State University , he first attended engineering school. In 1928 he completed his law studies there. In the same year he was admitted to the bar and opened a law firm in Columbus.

As a candidate for the Democratic Party, he was elected to the US House of Representatives to succeed the late Charles V. Truax for the 23rd District of Ohio. He took up his mandate on November 3, 1936. He left Congress two months later. In the 1936 congressional elections , he did not stand up. After leaving Congress, he went back to his home state to be able to work as a lawyer again. In 1941 he joined the United States Army Air Forces. There he served until 1953, most recently as a major . Until his death in 1976 he worked again as a lawyer in Columbus, where he also died. His body was cremated and buried in Green Lawn Cemetery.
