Charles B. McClintock

Charles Blaine McClintock (born May 25, 1886 in Paint , Wayne County , Ohio , †  February 1, 1965 in Canton , Ohio) was an American politician . Between 1929 and 1933 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Charles McClintock attended public schools in his home country and then Wooster University . After a subsequent law degree at Western Reserve University in Cleveland and his admission to the bar in 1912, he began to work in Canton in this profession. Between 1919 and 1923 he was assistant prosecutor in Stark County there . He then held the office of the actual public prosecutor there from 1923 to 1927. Politically, he joined the Republican Party .

In the 1928 congressional election , McClintock was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 16th  constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Democrat John McSweeney on March 4, 1929 . After being re-elected, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1933 . These were shaped by the events of the global economic crisis. In 1932 he was not re-elected.

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Charles McClintock practiced law again. In 1934 he competed unsuccessfully to return to Congress. Between 1946 and 1963 he was an appellate judge in the Ohio Fifth Judicial District. He died in Canton on February 1, 1965 and was buried in Wilmot .
