Charles V. Truax

Charles Truax Vilas (* 1. February 1887 in Sycamore , Wyandot County , Ohio ; † 9. August 1935 in Washington, DC ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . From 1933 to 1935 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for 23  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

biography

Charles Vilas Truax was born in Sycamore. There he also attended general schools. He spent his high school years at Sycamore High School. In 1913 he was named Ohio Agricultural Director by Governor A. Victor Donahey . He served until 1929. During his time as Agricultural Director, he was an editor at Swine world magazine from 1916 to 1921 . In 1928 he ran for the Democratic Party to be Senator for Ohio in the US Senate . However, he lost to Roscoe C. McCulloch . He worked in the insurance business in the Ohio capital, Columbus .

As a Democratic candidate, he was elected to the House of Representatives in the 1932 congressional election as representative of the 23rd District of Ohio. There he fulfilled his mandate until his death in 1935. He died in the US capital and was buried in Pleasant View Cemetery in the city of his birth.
