Rodney Marvin Love (born July 18, 1908 in Dayton , Ohio , †  May 5, 1996 in Mesa , Arizona ) was an American politician . Between 1965 and 1967 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Rodney Love attended Steele High School until 1926 and then studied at Ohio State University in Columbus until 1930 . After a subsequent law degree at the University of Dayton and his admission as a lawyer in 1933, he began to work in Dayton in this profession. From 1941 to 1945 he was chief deputy at the probate court . Between 1945 and 1960 he served as a judge at this court. He then practiced again as a private lawyer. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party .

In the 1964 congressional election , Love was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the third constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Republican Paul F. Schenck on January 3, 1965 . Since he was not confirmed in 1966, he could only complete one term in Congress until January 3, 1967 . This was shaped by the events of the Vietnam War .

Between 1968 and 1980, Love was an appellate judge on the Ohio Court of Common Pleas . He then officially retired, but still worked as a judge afterwards. In 1993 he suffered a stroke. He died in Mesa on May 5, 1996.
