James Kennedy

James Kennedy (* 3. September 1853 in Lowelville , Mahoning County , Ohio ; † 9. November 1928 in Youngstown , Ohio) was an American politician of the Republican Party . March 4, 1903 to March 3, 1911, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 18th  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Kennedy was born in Lowelville. There he attended school. He then attended Westminster College in Pennsylvania , where he prepared for his studies. In 1879 he completed his law degree. In the same year he was admitted to the bar. From then on he practiced in Youngstown. There he was a member of the city council from 1886 to 1888.

In 1902, Kennedy was elected to the US House of Representatives as representative of the 18th District of Ohio. He was re-elected three times. He retired back into the legal business. In 1926 he ran again for election in the 18th district, this time unsuccessful for the Democrats . Kennedy died in Youngstown in 1928.
