Ed Feighan

Edward "Ed" Farrell Feighan (born  October 22, 1947 in Lakewood , Ohio ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party . January 3, 1983 to January 3, 1993 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 19th  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Feighan graduated from St. Edwards High School in west Cleveland in 1965 . In 1969 he received his Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University in New Orleans . From 1973 to 1978 Feighan served in the Ohio House of Representatives . During that time, he studied law at Cleveland State University . In 1977 he ran for Mayor of Cleveland, but could not prevail against Dennis Kucinich . Between 1978 and 1983 Feighan was employed by Cuyahoga County . In 1982 he ran successfully for a seat in the House of Representatives in Washington, DC From then on he represented the 19th constituency of Ohio. In 1992 he was no longer nominated by his party.

After the end of his political career Feighan worked in various positions in the private sector. He has now withdrawn from public life.
