Jacob Henry Bromwell (born May 11, 1848 in Cincinnati , Ohio , † June 4, 1924 in Wyoming , Ohio) was an American politician of the Republican Party . December 3, 1894 to March 3, 1903 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the second  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Bromwell was born in Cincinnati. He spent his childhood in Newport , Kentucky . He attended schools in Cincinnati. In 1864 he graduated from high school. He then worked as a teacher in Cincinnati and southern Indiana for 23 years . He successfully studied law at the University of Cincinnati . In 1888 he was admitted to the bar. He was mayor of Wyoming between 1880 and 1886.

In a special election , Bromwell was elected to the US House of Representatives for the resigned John A. Caldwell . From then on he represented the 2nd District of Ohio. He was re-elected three times. In 1902 he was no longer nominated by his party. He went back to Cincinnati, where he worked as a lawyer again. From 1907 to 1913 he served as a judge for the state of Ohio. He worked as a lawyer again until his death in 1924. Bromwell was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery .
