Jean Spencer Ashbrook (born Emily Jean Spencer , * 21st September 1934 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is an American politician of the Republican Party . From 1982 to 1983 she represented the 17th  Congressional District of the US state Ohio in the United States House of Representatives .

biography

Jean Spencer Ashbrook was born in Cincinnati. She attended Central School in Newark and graduated from Newark High School in 1952. In 1956 she graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science . In 1974 she married John M. Ashbrook . Her husband served in the House of Representatives from 1961 until his death on April 24, 1982. Jean Spencer Ashbrook won the special election for his successor and sat in the House of Representatives as her husband's successor until 1983.

She lives in Newark.
