James H. Cassidy

James Henry Cassidy (* 28. October 1869 in Cleveland , Ohio ; † 23. August 1926 in New York City , New York ) was an American politician of the Republican Party . From 1909 to 1911 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for 21  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

biography

Cassidy was born in Cleveland. There he studied at the Cleveland State University after attending the public schools Jura . In 1899 he was admitted to practice as a lawyer. He then set up as a lawyer in his hometown. From 1901 to 1909 he was clerk of the House Committee on Rivers and Harbors.

Cassidy was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1909 as the successor to the resigned Theodore E. Burton . There he represented the 21st congressional district of Ohio until 1911. He ran for another legislative term, but unsuccessfully. He returned to Cleveland to resume his legal practice. He then worked in various positions in business.

Cassidy died in New York City in 1926. He was buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery on Long Island .
