The Austrian Football Association's Cup was played for the 50th time in the 1983/84 season.

The final was played in two games. In the first leg defeat before 11,000 spectators in Vienna Prater Stadium of FK Austria Wien to SK Rapid Wien with 3: 1 gates. The second leg in front of 20,000 spectators in the Gerhard Hanappi Stadium saw SK Rapid Wien successful with 2-0 goals. Cup winner was thus after an overall result of 3: 3 due to the away goals rule of SK Rapid Wien, which was able to successfully defend its title from the previous year . It was the eleventh cup win for the Hütteldorfer.
