The Abierto Mexicano Telcel 2020 was a tennis tournament that took place in Acapulco from February 24-29, 2020 . It was part of the ATP Tour 2020 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Chile Dove Men + Care Open was played in Santiago de Chile and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Dubai . The latter, like the Abierto Mexicano Telcel, belonged to the ATP Tour 500 category , while the tournament in Santiago de Chile belonged to the ATP Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in singles was Nick Kyrgios , in doubles the pairing of Alexander Zverev and Mischa Zverev won the title last year.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 1,845,265; total financial liabilities were $ 2,000,845.

The qualification took place on February 22nd and 23rd, 2020. Four qualifier places were played out in singles and one place in doubles, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
