Krasnocholmskoje ( Russian Краснохолмское , German  Abschruten, Labiau district , 1938 to 1945 Ehlertfelde , Lithuanian Apšrūtai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .

Geographical location

Krasnocholmskoje is located 26 kilometers east of the city of Polessk (Labiau) on the municipal road 27K-049 between Salessje (Mehlauken / Liebenfelde) and Winogradnoje (Schaudienen / Kornhöfen) . The nearest train station is Zalessye on the Kaliningrad – Sovetsk railway line (Königsberg – Tilsit) .

The village, once called Abschruten , only consisted of a few small farms before 1945. In 1874, the rural community Alt Abschruten was incorporated into the newly established district of Mehlauken (1938 to 1945 "District Liebenfelde (Ostpr.)", The place name today in Russian: Salessje), which belonged to the Labiau district in the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . On May 4, 1896, the rural community Alt Abschruten was renamed the rural community "Abschruten". On December 4, 1924, Abschrutens was reclassified from the Mehlauken district to the Piplin district (1938 to 1945 "Timberhafen district", the place no longer exists today). On June 3, 1938 Abschruten was renamed "Ehlertfelde" in ideological defense against foreign-sounding place names.

As a result of the war, Ehlertfelde came to northern East Prussia in 1945 . to the Soviet Union . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name Krasnocholmskoje (as Abschruten) and at the same time was assigned to the village soviet Zalessovsky selski sovet in the Bolshakovo district . Since 1965 the place belongs to the Polessk Raion . From 2008 to 2016 Krasnocholmskoje belonged to the rural municipality Zalessovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.
