Elton (born April 2, 1971 in West Berlin ; real name Alexander Duszat ) is a German television presenter and entertainer . His stage name is due to his supposed external resemblance to Elton John at a young age.

Life

Elton (2012)

Alexander Duszat was born in West Berlin , where he lived until he was five. Then his family moved to Hamburg and later to Jork . There he attended secondary school and then the Halepaghen school in Buxtehude . After graduating from high school, he trained as a radio and television technician and worked in the port of Hamburg. Duszat has been married to Yvonne Duszat since November 2003 and has two children, a boy and a girl. He lives in Großenaspe near Neumünster and appears in public exclusively under his stage name Elton . His father is the bass player for the Jorker oldie cover band Daddy goes crazy .

Duszat has set up its own foundation called Elton hilft through the umbrella foundation for individual gifts of the GLS Treuhand .

Career

After an internship in the music and sports editorial department at delta radio in Kiel , he switched to the regional television station Hamburg 1 as a trainee . He moderated various programs there (including the Elton Street series ), in which he first appeared under the stage name Elton .

From February 6, 2001, until the program was discontinued in December 2015, he appeared as a show intern at TV total on ProSieben . He was the sidekick of Stefan Raab and moderated occasionally own contributions . In the quiz embarrassing or cashing on TV total and Schlag den Raab (or the offshoots of the show), he worked as a presenter and wore a striking red suit with a red checkered white shirt on such occasions since the beginning of his career at TV Total . Elton, also known as Raab's “foster son”, was also a regular guest on all TV-total special programs, in which he mostly participated as a candidate.

Elton released one song each in 2008 and 2010 on the occasion of the European Football Championship and the World Cup . Both times he was accompanied by the rock band Peilomat . He is a fan of FC St. Pauli and has the all-star team of the club already at several charity -Play favor charitable participated purposes, u. a. as part of the series Kicken mit Herz in the FC St. Pauli-Allstars team against the medical team of the Eppendorf University Hospital and against the Nivea Kickers. With Fettes Brot , Tim Mälzer and Heinz Strunk , he supported the St. Pauli drinking water initiative Viva con Agua . Elton also represented the club at various events such as the German Ice Football Cup .

Since October 16, 2010 he has hosted the children's game show 1, 2 or 3 . With a casting, the ZDF had looked for a replacement for Daniel Fischer and finally decided on Elton as the new presenter. At ProSieben he moderated a. a. his format, which is totally established from TV, as an independent program Elton is playing live . In 2014 he was the presenter of the program Millionärswahl , which was discontinued after four episodes due to poor audience ratings. In addition to Bernhard Hoëcker, he has been leading a quiz team in Who knows something? Since June 2015, moderated by Kai Pflaume . which is broadcast regularly on the First .

Since April 2016, Elton has been moderating the program Schlag den Star on ProSieben . From September 30, 2017 to September 22, 2018, he moderated the offshoot Schlag den Henssler eight times , and since summer 2019 Elton has moderated the other offshoot Schlag den Beste .
