Oleksandr Oleksandrowytsch Mojissejenko ( Ukrainian Олександр Олександрович Моїсеєнко , spelling for the World Chess Federation FIDE Alexander Moiseenko ; born May 17, 1980 in Severomorsk , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster . He is a trained lawyer.

Life

Mojissejenko learned the game of chess from his mother and joined the chess group at the Severomorsk Pioneer Palace at the age of six. In 1989 he moved with his family to Kharkiv in what is now Ukraine. His first coach was Wolodymyr Wiskin (1934-2015). At the age of 17 he began his law studies at the law school in Kharkiv, which is named after Yaroslav the Wise. In the strong chess club there, for which the later GM Eljanow and Andrejew also played, he was trained by former USSR master Volodymyr Zavon .

In 1998 Mojissejenko became International Master (IM) and 2000 Grand Master (GM). He reached his highest rating to date in September 2011 with 2726.

His tournament successes as a single player include the Canadian Open (2003, 2004 and 2008), the tournament in Cappelle-la-Grande (2006), which he won with 7.5 points from 9 games, the World Open (2008) in Philadelphia and the Aeroflot Open (2009) in Moscow, where he shared first place with Étienne Bacrot with 6.5 points from 9 games . At the FIDE World Chess Championship in Tripoli in 2004 he reached the third round after victories over Sergei Dolmatov and Viktor Bologan , in which he was defeated by the Armenian Vladimir Hakobjan .

Mojissejenko took part in the World Chess Cup three times ( 2005 , 2011 and 2013 ). He reached the second round in 2005, and the third round in 2011 and 2013. In 2013 he was European chess champion in Legnica with 8 points from 11 games due to the better evaluation in front of nine players with the same points .

National team

With the Ukrainian national team, Mojissejenko took part in six Chess Olympiads ( 2002 , 2004 , 2006 , 2010 , 2012 and 2014 ). He became Olympic champion with the team in 2004 and 2010 and came third in 2012. He took part in the team world championship in 2005, 2011 and 2013. He reached third place with the team in 2011 and 2013, and in the individual ranking he achieved the best result on the fourth board in 2011. He also took part in five European team championships (2003, 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2013), he achieved the second-best individual result on the fourth board in 2013 and the third-best individual result on the third board in 2005.

Mojiseejenko has been playing in the Ukrainian team championship since 1999 for the Law Academy Kharkiv , with which he also took part in the European Club Cup in 1997 and 1999 , and was Ukrainian team champion with them in 2000, 2004, 2005, 2012 and 2013. In the Russian team championship in 2002 he played for SK Novokuznetsk , since 2008 he has played for Ekonomist-1 Saratow , with whom he also participated in the European Club Cup from 2009 to 2012 and won it in 2009 and 2010. In the French top 12 he played for Lutèce Echecs in the 2010/11 season , and in the German Bundesliga he has been playing for SV 1930 Hockenheim since the 2014/15 season . In the Spanish team championship he played for CA Valencia-Cuna del Ajedrez Moderno in 2004 and 2005 , and for Sestao XT in 2008 and 2010 . Mojiseejenko also played for the Israeli club Ashdod , with whom he participated in the European Club Cup from 2005 to 2008 and achieved the second-best individual result on the fifth board in 2006. In 2017 he played for Chengdu in the Chinese team championship .
