The American University of Rome (AUR) is a US private university based in Rome ( Trastevere ).

In addition to a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree, it offers several exchange semester programs for students from all over the world. The language of instruction is English. The AUR is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States (MSCHE / Middle States).

It was founded in 1969 by the American journalist David Collins.
