Best is a Dutch municipality in the province of Noord-Brabant .

The place is 9 km northwest of Eindhoven , 19 km west of Helmond , 20 km south of 's-Hertogenbosch , 22 km east-southeast of Tilburg and 102 km south-southeast of Amsterdam .

The next motorway exits are Best and Best-West on the Dutch A2 ( E25 ) motorway, which passes directly by the site, and Best on the A58 ( E312 ) motorway .

Best has its own train station on the Breda – Eindhoven line . The next larger station is in Eindhoven .

The closest international airport is Eindhoven Airport in the neighboring city .

Best is the headquarters of the food company Vion NV

history

In March 1945 Best was the Canadian Lincoln and Welland Regiment . It was replenished there after the losses in the battles previously. On March 30, it moved out of Best towards Nijmegen and Kleve for Operation Haymaker .

politics

The local election in 2018 was won by the VVD , which was only the fourth strongest force in the previous election, with a quarter of all votes. In the 2018-2022 legislative period, the municipal government will be led by a coalition of Best Open, CDA , Jongerenpartij Jong en Ongebonden and VVD .
