history

Until the 19th century

The finds from the prehistoric settlement of Bruckberg go back to the Neolithic Age (approx. 4000 to 2000 BC). Several barrows near the train station tell of the subsequent Copper and Bronze Ages (2000 to 1200 BC) and the Hallstatt / Iron Age (800 to 500 BC). The traces of a Viereckschanze on the elevation east of Almosenbachhorn (around 400 BC) date from the Celtic period . Finds from Roman times (around 150 AD) and excavations of Roman foundation walls prove the existence of a Roman road .

In 880, the future Emperor Arnulf of Carinthia made a donation to Count Sighart von Ebersberg in Bruckberg, the Villa Berga. In the 11th century, a relative of the Counts of Moosburg-Roning-Rottenburg built Bruckberg Castle . It served to protect an Isar crossing mentioned in 1377.

Around 1130 Friedrich von Bruckberg is mentioned in the entourage of the Wittelsbachers and Counts of Moosburg. The Bruckbergers lived in Bruckberg until 1343 and carried a coat of arms with a helmet and vulture's wing in white-blue color.

After the time of the Bruckbergs, the castle often changed hands. During the time of Henry the Lion , court days were repeatedly held here. The chairman shaft Bruckberg shelter in ducal kurbayerischer during the reign Isareck in district court Moosburg . In the Thirty Years War , Bruckberg was almost completely destroyed by the Swedes.

In 1770 a large part of the castle burned down. It was restored shortly afterwards. In the War of Spanish Succession (1701-1714) and the War of Austrian Succession (1741-1748) and in the Napoleonic Wars in the early 19th century Bruckberg suffered from billeting and looting. In 1808 the Bruckberg tax district was created , from which the Bruckberg community emerged. The barons von Schacky had been the castle owners since 1826. Now the castle with all the land is owned by the Barons von Korff-Grimm.
