Constituency history

The constituency was number 47 in the North Rhine-Westphalian constituencies in the 1949 federal election. He then received the nationwide constituency number 106. For the federal elections from 1965 to 1976 he had the number 104 and for the elections from 1980 to 1998 inclusive, the constituency number 102. In the federal elections from 1949 to 1972, the constituency was called Bielefeld-Stadt and in the 1976 federal election, Bielefeld II . Since the federal election in 1980 it has been called Bielefeld .

From 1949 to 1972 the constituency comprised the city of Bielefeld within the boundaries before the territorial reform of 1973 . In the 1976 federal election, the constituency included the city of Bielefeld in the new 1973 boundaries, but excluding the area of ​​the former municipalities of Brackwede , Sennestadt , Senne , Gadderbaum and Schröttinghausen. These districts belonged to constituency 103 Bielefeld I in 1976 .

From 1980 to 1994, the constituency comprised the city of Bielefeld in its current boundaries. For the 1998 federal election, the constituency was expanded to include the town of Werther from the Gütersloh district and given the new constituency number 133 before the 2002 federal election. For the 2013 federal election, the constituency was renamed 132 Bielefeld - Gütersloh II .
