Constituency history
The constituency was redesigned for the 2002 federal election. The town of Dinslaken was given to the constituency of Oberhausen - Wesel III , while Alpen, Kamp-Lintfort, Rheinberg and Sonsbeck were taken over from the former constituency of Wesel II . The predecessor constituencies with similar territory were from 1949 to 1965 the constituency Rees - Dinslaken and 1965-1980 the Constituency Dinslaken .
