Dambach (colloquially: "Dåmbach") is a district of the independent city of Fürth in Middle Franconia .
geography
The district is located about two kilometers southwest of the historic center of Fürth. The Rednitz flows east of the village, to the south it is bounded by the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal and the south-west bypass. The extensive Fürth city forest extends to the southwest .
history
The place probably originated in Carolingian times and belonged to the Königsmark Fürth in the 8th century. The place was first mentioned in a document as "Tanbach" in 1279, when Eberhardus de Hertingsberg donated goods in Tanbach to the St. Klara Monastery in Nuremberg . The first spelling "Tanbach" from 1279 can probably be traced back to the brook that used to flow through the fir forest through Dambach. Further mentions can be found in 1288 as “Tambach”, 1413 in the castle count's office of Cadolzburg, in 1496 as “Thonpach” and 1733 as “Dombach”.
At the end of the 18th century there were 20 properties in Dambach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The rulership of the village and the community was disputed between the Cadolzburg caste office , the Langenzenn monastery office and the state charity office of the imperial city of Nuremberg . The landlords were the Cadolzburg caste office (1 estate, 1 house), the Langenzenn monastery office (3 half yards, 1 estate, 1 house), the Zirndorf parish (1 estate), the Landesalmosenamt (7 estate) and the Nuremberg owners of Ebner (3 estate) ), von Fürer (1 good), von Welser (1 good).
As part of the municipal edict, the Dambach tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Ober- and Unterfürberg belonged. In the same year the rural community Dambach was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Regional Court of Nuremberg and in the financial administration to the Fürth Rent Office ( renamed the Fürth Tax Office in 1920 ). In voluntary jurisdiction, 2 properties were subordinate to the Patrimonial Court (PG) Groß- und Kleingeschaidt from 1821 to 1835 , 1 property from 1822 to 1836 to the PG Haimendorf and 3 properties to 1812 and from 1821 to 1836 to the PG Weikershof . The Bavarian original cadastre shows Dambach in the 1810s as a clustered village with 25 hearths and a chain of ponds along the course of the stream. From 1862 Dambach was administered by the Fürth district office. In 1862 jurisdiction was transferred to the Fürth District Court , and since 1880 it has been with the Fürth District Court . The municipality had an area of 5.445 km².
On January 1, 1901, Dambach was incorporated into Fürth.
At the end of the 1950s, Dambach grew rapidly in terms of area due to the building boom. The stock consists mainly of residential houses, but the rural core of the place is still recognizable. Another part of Dambach, also built between 1954 and 1959, is the Dambach Housing Area , a former officers' settlement of the US armed forces that has been preserved in character . The plots of the typical American single and semi-detached houses are not separated by any walls or fences.
Architectural monuments
There are 15 historical buildings, mostly from the Wilhelminian era, preserved as monuments . The Dambach Housing Area is also under ensemble protection .
