history
Until the church is planted
A Frankish settlement can be dated to the second half of the 8th century. The Oberzell monastery had owned Eisingen since 1164, and was responsible for pastoral care of the place until modern times. Around 1500 the knight's monastery (until 1464 Benedictine monastery) St. Burkard in Würzburg owned the village rulership and a good half of the manor. Other landlords were the Poor Clare Monastery of St. Agnes (which later became the property of the Jesuits and then the University of Würzburg), the Himmelspforten Monastery, the Neumünster Abbey and the Court Chamber Interest Office, the latter probably as the legal successor to the former Burcardard Propstei Frauenberg. As part of the Hochstift Würzburg , Eisingen was secularized in 1803 in favor of Bavaria, then given to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany in the Peace of Preßburg (1805) to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg , with which it finally reverted to Bavaria in 1814. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
