The airfield Dingolfing is the Sonderlandeplatz the Lower Bavarian town of Dingolfing . It is run by the air sports club Dingolfing e. V. operated.
history
The special landing site was originally the airfield of Hans Glas GmbH , and was taken over by BMW together with the automobile manufacturer in November 1966 .
On July 17, 1969, the airfield was approved by the government of Lower Bavaria as a special landing site, with the Dingolfing air sports club as the holder.
geography
The airfield is located about three kilometers north of the historic town center of Dingolfing in the Long Parts parcel . In terms of its natural surroundings, the area is in the Isar valley , which merges into the Gäuboden to the north .
Airfield and equipment
The airfield is for aircraft of all types up to 2000 kg MTOW , helicopters up to 5700 kg and has no regular operating hours. The site belongs to the city of Dingolfing and the operator is the Luftsportverein Dingolfing e. V.
There are several farm buildings, a small, ground-level control room (frequency 125.615 MHz), two hangars and a clubhouse. There is a petrol station and an oil service is available for stopovers.
Incidents
- On December 31, 2005, a Piper Tomahawk sagged again after take-off and crashed into unpaved terrain beyond the end of the tarmac. The machine was badly damaged, the pilot got away with the horror.
- On July 4, 2012, shortly after taking off from EDPD , a WD Sunwheel microlight crashed into a grain field and burned out. Both inmates were killed.
traffic
A municipal road opens up the airfield to the federal motorway 92 , which runs directly to the north . The public transport does not serve the airport directly. There is a city bus in town that connects to the Dingolfing train station . There is an option to board the Landshut – Plattling railway line .
