Story, name
Immediately to the south of today's airfield there was an air force airfield during World War II . The place was created in 1934 as a glider flying site and from 1936 was expanded into a port of operations in Bad Wörishofen with hangars, workshops and a barracks area. The airfield was operational in 1938 and in the following year received a rail connection to a new tank farm.
The airfield used by the military was abandoned and built over after the war. The addition North has remained in the name of the Bad Wörishofen-Nord airfield , even if the airfield to the south no longer exists.
