The Mühldorf airfield is located two kilometers north of Mühldorf am Inn in the Mühldorf district (in the area of ​​the city of Mühldorf am Inn and the municipality of Mettenheim ). It is classified as a special landing site and approved for aircraft up to 5700 kg.

During World War II already operational Air Force in Mühldorf a military airfield , which the Americans after the occupation as Airfield R.83 designated.
