The Mühldorf airfield is located two kilometers north of Mühldorf am Inn in the Mühldorf district (in the area of the city of Mühldorf am Inn and the municipality of Mettenheim ). It is classified as a special landing site and approved for aircraft up to 5700 kg.
history
During World War II already operational Air Force in Mühldorf a military airfield , which the Americans after the occupation as Airfield R.83 designated.
Furnishing
Since 2001 the airfield has had runway lighting including threshold flashing. The former all-round light from the former Munich airport in Riem is now in use on the Mühldorfer Tower.
Todays use
Two flight schools are operated on the site , which have a good dozen motorized planes , motor gliders and gliders . The Air Service Mühldorf , as an aviation company , carries out maintenance on aircraft up to 2000 kg. The German Weather Service maintains an office in the tower.
