The airfield Vogtareuth is the airport of the Upper Bavarian municipality Vogtareuth in Rosenheim . It is run by the Motorfliegerclub Rosenheim e. V. operated.
geography
The airfield is just under two kilometers east of the historic town center of Vogtareuth at an altitude of 464 m above sea level. NN in the Heubühlmoos parcel . The eastern end of the runway is built over onto the area of the municipality of Söchtenau . In terms of nature, it is located in the western Chiemgau in the Achel valley . The Inn flows four kilometers to the west . The state border with Austria runs 25 kilometers south .
history
The Motorfliegerclub Rosenheim e. V. was founded in the 1950s and initially used the premises of neighboring clubs. In 1971 the site in Vogtareuth was moved into. Initially, an own club home was built there, an aircraft hangar and approval as a special landing site was granted. A gas station was added, the runway was paved and further expansion has been ongoing ever since.

Airfield and equipment
The airfield is a special landing pad for all types of aircraft up to 2000 kg and helicopters up to 5700 kg maximum take-off weight (MTOW) and has no regular operating hours. The operator is the Motorfliegerclub Rosenheim e. V. Landing is only possible after prior notification ( PPR ). The place carries the ICAO code EDNV.
There is a farm building with a ground-level flight control center (frequency 121.025 MHz), a hangar and the clubhouse. There is a petrol station and an oil service is available for stopovers.
Incidents
- On May 24, 1999, a Hoffmann H36 touring sailor was seriously damaged in a false start .
- On August 14, 2002, a Dallach D4 launched on EDNV became unstable after three minutes of flight and crashed into a moorland, fatally injuring the pilot.
- On August 13, 2012, a Cessna 172 stationed and launched at Vogtareuth airfield crashed into a forest area near Trondheim in Norway and crashed into pieces. The pilot and the two passengers lost their lives.
traffic
Municipal and district roads open up the airfield via the state road St 2359 to the federal road 15 running to the west . The public transport do not operate the airfield directly, but can be boarded in Vogtareuth to bus number 9415, which goes to Rosenheim.
