The Griesau airfield is a special airfield in the Upper Palatinate municipality of Pfatter in the Regensburg district . It is run by Peter Wimmer.
geography
The airfield is located three kilometers south-east of the historical center of Pfatter near the village of Griesau at an altitude of 323 m above sea level. NN in the parcel Eichellohe . In terms of nature, it is located in the western Gäuboden , two kilometers to the north the Danube flows and further north the terrain rises towards the Bavarian Forest .
history
The Griesau airfield was laid out by Peter Wimmer in 1964/65. An aircraft hangar and a restaurant were built. A gas station was added later.
Airfield and equipment
Griesau is approved for airplanes and helicopters up to 2000 kg maximum take-off weight as well as for gliders and ultralight aircraft.
There is a farm building with a ground-level flight control center and a hangar. The gas station and the restaurant are currently unmanned. An oil service is possible for stopovers.
traffic
A municipal road opens up the airfield to the federal highway 8 running to the west . The public transport do not operate the airfield directly, but may in the southern places Suenching and Radldorf to the Regensburg-Passau railway be boarded.
