The Airfield Arnbruck is a small German aerodrome at the Bavarian Forest in Arnbruck . It is located 1 km southwest of the municipality. The space is approved for aircraft up to 2500 kg.

Airfield and club

This special landing site has existed since 1964. It was built by the local air sports club LSV Zellertal eV (founded in 1963).

Interested parties are offered flights with 4-seat sport aircraft and 2-seat motor gliders , microlights and gliders . The statutory task of this non-profit association is, in particular, the care and training of young people who are enthusiastic about flying.

Since 2008, the airfield in Arnbruck has been the base of the Bavarian Air Rescue Service. V.

A restaurant belongs to the airfield.

Events

The following events take place every year:

  • At the end of March and beginning of October a 2-week aerobatics course
  • At the end of May, the Falter Otto glider competition (FOW) for distance gliding
  • on the second weekend in August the big flight festival, one of the highlights of the year in the Zellertal.

In 2008 the LURU-Cup, a glider aerobatic competition, was added every year at the beginning of September.

In addition, flight training takes place all year round, and the possibility of taking a flight is offered to those interested.

In terms of sport, they take part in the global OLC online competition , where Arnbruck airfield leads the Lower Bavaria ranking and ranks steadily among the top 10% in Bavaria.
