The airfield Moosburg auf der Kippe is a special airfield in the Upper Bavarian town of Moosburg in the Freising district .

geography

The airfield is located one kilometer south of the historic center of Moosburg at an altitude of 419  m above sea level. NN in the parcel on the dump , a former garbage dump. The Amper overpass canal runs along the northern edge of the runway and the Isar flows 400 m to the south-east . In terms of nature, it is located in the Isar-Amper-Land and the Isarauen nature reserve extends to the south-east between Hangenham and Moosburg .

history

Aviation has been in operation in Moosburg since the 1960s. In 1962 the site was occupied and also used as a model airfield. First of all, it built its own clubhouse, an aircraft hangar. Approval as a special landing site was only granted later. Since then, further expansion has been ongoing.

Airfield and equipment

The airfield is approved for aircraft of all types up to 2000 kg maximum take-off weight (MTOW). The operator is the Fliegerclub Moosburg e. V.

There is a farm building, a hangar and the clubhouse. Bicycles can be borrowed for excursions into the surrounding area.

Incidents

  • On May 22, 2010, a five-person Cessna 182 -Q collided with trees shortly after take-off and caught fire. The occupants were able to save themselves slightly injured, the aircraft was completely destroyed. In addition, the resulting conflagration caused damage to the woodland.
  • On April 15, 2015, a Bölkow Bo 207 also crashed into impassable wood shortly after take-off at EDPI and burned out there, fatally injuring the pilot.

Local roads connect the airfield to the state road St 2350 . The public transport do not operate the airfield directly, but can in Moosburg to the Munich-Regensburg railway be boarded.
