The airfield Lichtenfels is an airfield near the town of Lichtenfels (Oberfranken) (1 km from the city center).

It is idyllically situated in the Main Valley, the sights of Staffelberg , Banz Monastery and the Vierzehnheiligen basilica are within sight.

history

Until the fall of the Berlin Wall , the space was within the Air Defense Identification Zone and could only be reached via two entry corridors.

The space is approved for aircraft up to 2.0 tons. The license for microlight aircraft was granted in 2003.

The Aero Club Lichtenfels eV, active on the site, operates two powered aircraft, a Cessna 172 Rocket and a Remo DR 400 as a towing aircraft. The club also owns five gliders: an ASK 21 , a Schleicher K 8 , a roller shutter Schneider LS8 , a roller shutter Schneider LS7 and a roller shutter Schneider LS4 .

Two more Schneider LS8 roller shutters , two Schneider LS1f roller shutters , an ASH 26 E and a Remos GX are also privately owned at the airport .
