from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about the Mexican national football team of the women in the soccer World Cup Women 2015 in Canada . Mexico took part in the World Cup finals for the third time. The team qualified third in the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup .

qualification

Mexico, like the USA, qualified directly for the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup .

At the Gold Cup, Mexico finished second behind Costa Rica in the group stage. The game against Martinique, in which the Mexicans achieved their highest international win, is not counted by FIFA as Martinique is not a FIFA member. By winning the game for third place, the Mexicans qualified and benefited from the fact that, thanks to the increase in the field of participants to 24 teams, the CONCACAF members were granted three permanent starting positions in addition to hosts Canada . The losing team from Trinidad & Tobago failed in the playoff games against Ecuador , the third in the CONMEBOL qualification, with a goal in the last minute.
