Global United FC is an international, registered in Germany, non-profit association that works for the climate and environment by increasing the attention to these topics. Well over 500 well-known - former and partly still active - football professionals, football coaches and football referees from all over the world are available for benefit games, campaign weeks and individual projects in endangered or unusual locations. In the meantime, other personalities from the media, entertainment and business have joined the club's motto "We love football. We love our planet".
The management of the association consists of the founder and board member Lutz Pfannenstiel , the chairman of the supervisory board Fredi Bobic and the operationally responsible general secretary / CEO Rainer Hahn . In addition, there are Geert Brusselers and Kristian Baumgärtner as members of the Supervisory Board and Tilmann Meuser , Thomas Richter and Bernhard Heinisch as members of the Advisory Board. The Global United FC Foundation NPC, based in Johannesburg, was founded in 2018 to further implement the activities in Africa.
The idea for Global United FC was launched in 2009 by Lutz Pfannenstiel . After the first successful projects, the association was founded in 2011.
Projects
In the fight against the negative consequences of global warming , Global United FC eV provides immediate help to people affected by climate disasters and supports preventive projects in emerging and developing countries as well as in industrialized nations. Global United FC aid projects include the Pakistan Flood Relief Project, global water projects, a biogas project in India and the TransAtlantic Climate Institute .
