Gustav Peter Wöhler
Gustav Peter Wöhler (born July 31, 1956 in Bielefeld ) is a German actor , singer and radio play speaker .
Live and act
Gustav Peter Wöhler's parents owned a restaurant in Eickum near Herford . After completing an apprenticeship as a wholesaler , he actually wanted to study social pedagogy. But his religion teacher recognized his talent and helped him pass the drama school aptitude test.
After training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum , he first went to Claus Peymann at the Bochum theater .
Initially, Gustav Peter Wöhler was mainly used for comic roles. This led to an inferiority complex , which he only began to get rid of when he worked with Peter Zadek at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg :
“Peter Zadek, to whom I owe my greatest theatrical experiences, said later that he had never laughed like me. That changed my self-confidence. "
As part of the Nibelungen Festival 2009 in Worms , Wöhler appeared on stage as Gunther in The Life of Siegfried . After the sudden death of Dirk Bach , he took over the title role in his place in October 2012 in the play The Little King December based on the book of the same name by Axel Hacke at the Berlin Schlossparktheater .
Gustav Peter Wöhler can also be seen in many television and cinema productions, for example in SK Kölsch , Bella Block and in Enlightenment guaranteed by Doris Dörrie . In 2015 Wöhler played the title role in Herman the German by Michael Binz , who received the audience award for the best short film at the Max Ophüls Film Festival .
Wöhler's second passion is music. With his Gustav Peter Wöhler Band he reinterprets classics from jazz , pop , rock and reggae and celebrated great success with them. Four CDs have now been released, and a live DVD was released in December 2005. The Gustav Peter Wöhler Band tours regularly all over Germany. In 2019 he also sang the leading role Tevje in the musical Anatevka at the Schwerin Palace Festival in 2019 .
He lives with his husband Albert Wiederspiel in Hamburg and Berlin-Charlottenburg .
