Route of Interstate 35

The Interstate 35 (abbreviated I-35 ) is an interstate highway in the United States , which runs north-south direction. It begins at Laredo , Texas on the border with Mexico and ends at Duluth , Minnesota on Minnesota State Route 61 , which runs along Lake Superior to the Canadian border. In Texas and Minnesota there are two separate I-35s for a few miles, which are then called I-35E and I-35W.

Interstate 35 does not connect directly to border crossings. The south end of I-35 is a traffic light in Laredo , Texas . Travelers heading south use one of the two toll bridges over the Rio Grande , either the Juárez – Lincoln International Bridge or the Gateway to the Americas International Bridge . The Panamericana begins in Nuevo Laredo south of these bridges ; In her honor, part of I-35 in San Antonio is named Pan Am Expressway . To the north, I-35 is connected to the border by Minnesota Highway 61 towards Grand Portage , US Highway 53 to the International Falls border crossing or Minnesota Highway 33 in Cloquet .
