Ignis sport
In 2003, Suzuki introduced the Ignis Sport, which is based on the series three-door model. The performance model bears the "Ignis Sport" emblem (in Japan Swift Sport / HT81S) and has the same 1.5 liter engine as the Ignis that was built in series. The engine was offered on the European market with 80 kW (110 hp), in Japan and Great Britain with 85 kW (116 hp).
The sport is equipped differently, including a BodyKit, rear spoiler, a chassis with a 5 cm lower body and harder springs, a shorter gearbox, sports exhaust, white 15-inch aluminum wheels from the manufacturer Enkei and Recaro sports seats. The steering wheel and gear knob are covered in leather, the fittings have white dials with blue LED lighting and carbon elements. The Ignis Sport was built in Japan until 2005 and was available in the following colors: red, blue, silver, black and yellow. The only options available were metal pedals, air conditioning, rear speakers and a front grille without an emblem. In Switzerland Ignis Sport was also offered as ZR2; it had a compressor and 17-inch aluminum wheels as standard. It developed 150 hp (110 kW).
The Suzuki Ignis drove heavily modified in the Super 1600 class in rally sport. This had 213 PS (157 kW), a sequential six-speed gearbox, weighed 1000 kg and took 4.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h. Heavily modified series Ignis are still part of the Group N rally.
The Suzuki Ignis Sport is played in the games Kaidō Racer and Kaidō Racer 2 for the PlayStation 2 . In these games he appears under his Japanese name "Swift".

The Ignis of the second generation (type MHX) built in cooperation with Subaru and Holden was not completely redeveloped, but was the result of a very extensive model upgrade . The entire front section with the fenders, headlights, grille and bumpers has been redesigned. The third side window was optically enlarged by a black panel and formed a unit with the higher rear lights and the unchanged rear window. In addition to the rear fog light, the new rear apron now also contained a reversing light. There were new colors for the body and the interior was upgraded; In addition, a diesel engine with 70 hp (51 kW) from Fiat / GM was available for the revised Ignis . The version with three doors was removed from the range as part of the revision.
The successor model Suzuki SX4 was produced in parallel to the Ignis since mid-2006 , so that the Ignis was discontinued at the end of 2007.
