Nandi County (until 2010 Nandi District ) is one of 47 administrative districts in Kenya . It is located in the west of the country and covers an area of 2,884.5 km² . In 2009 its population was 752,965, in 2019 it was already 885,711. The majority of the population belongs to the Nandi people . The capital of the county is the city of Kapsabet with about 22800 inhabitants .

- Kipchoge Keino , Kipchoge Hezekiah "Kip" Keino (* 1940 in Kipsamo), two-time Olympic champion and President of the National Olympic Committee in Kenya
- Benjamin Kogo (* 1945), former Kenyan athlete. In 1968 he was runner-up in the Olympic 3000 meter obstacle course .
- Henry Rono (* 1952), long-distance runner, who in 1978 set four world records over 3000 m, 3000 m obstacle, 5000 m and the like within 81 days. 10,000 m
