Oberholz lies on the upper reaches of the Werschbach . Neighboring towns are Wohlfarth in the northwest, Birrenbachshöhe in the southeast and Oberhausen in the south. Oberholz can be reached via the state roads 224 and 352 .

history

Klein-Oberholz was first mentioned in a document in 1487.

In 1816 the population was 17.

In 1901 46 people lived in Klein-Oberholz. The households in the hamlet were Joh. Diebel, Joh. Peter Fedder, Josefa Funken, Gertrud, Johann, Joh. Peter, Maria and Martin Kraus as well as Joh. Justus, Joh. Wilhelm and Peter Josef Krauss and Wilhelm Söntgerath. Except for the tailor Joh. Justus Krauss, everyone was in the village of Ackerer .

Gross-Oberholz was a hamlet with 16 inhabitants in 1901. Farmers Peter Franken, tailors Martin Pick and the farming families Christine, Heinrich Josef, Johann and Josefa Schmitz lived here.
