Zambia took part inthe 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the twelfth participation in the Summer Olympics. The National Olympic Committee of Zambia nominated seven athletes in four sports.

The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was Judoka Matthews Punza .
