Penmarch ( Breton Penmarc'h ) is a French commune in the Finistère département (region: Bretagne ) with 5247 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
geography
The municipality in the Cornouaille consists of the inland main town, mainly the coastal towns of Kerity, Saint-Guénolé and Saint-Pierre. The port of Saint-Guénolé is home to a sizeable fishing fleet, one of the most important in the country with an annual catch of around 14,000 tons. A large part of the fish is offered in a modern auction hall on the port area, while a certain part is processed in local canning factories. North of the port is a rocky coastline that merges into the sandy beach of Pors Carn at the end of the village.
