Primera División (chess) 1975
The Primera División (chess) 1975 was the top division of the 19th Spanish team championship in chess and was played with ten teams. The champion was the defending champion CA Schweppes Madrid, RCD La Coruña and CA Maspalomas were promoted from the Segunda División. While La Coruña achieved relegation, Maspalomas had to relegate together with GE Aviaco Madrid.

mode
The ten participating teams played a simple round-robin tournament , the last two were relegated and replaced by the first two of the Segunda División. The game was played on four boards, the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of team points (two points for a win, one point) decided the placement for a tie, no point for a loss).
Dates and venue
The tournament was held from June 25th to July 3rd in the Seat Sports Hall ( Pabellón Polideportivo del Grupo de Empresa Seat ) in Barcelona . The organizer was the Catalan Chess Federation ( Federación Catalana de Ajedrez ), which celebrated its 50th anniversary with this event.
Season course
CA Schweppes Madrid was in the lead from the 5th lap and increased the lead to 4 points in the end. GE Aviaco Madrid was prematurely relegated, while the decision on the second relegated was made in the last round in a direct comparison between RCD La Coruña and CA Maspalomas.
