↑ Basketball Bundesliga 2010/11 |
The 2010/11 season is the fourth season of the German ProA basketball division . The ProA is the first season of the hierarchically structured 2nd basketball league . The main round began on September 25, 2010 and ended on April 23, 2011.
mode
16 teams took part in the league. The two best-placed teams acquired the right to participate in the basketball Bundesliga (BBL). The two worst teams relegated to the lower season Pro B of the second division.
conditions
The minimum requirements were reduced due to the experiences of the previous season , the participating teams had to prove a minimum budget of 350,000 euros and a venue with a capacity for 1,500 spectators.
During the game, two German players per team always had to stand on the field, the German players were marked with a German flag on their jerseys.
A maximum of 18 players per season and team could be used. At least nine of them had to be German citizens. Of the maximum of twelve players that could be used per game, at least six had to be German. There were double licenses for players in the U24 age group with the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and for U22 players from the regional leagues (and below). These players do not count among the 18 maximum players, but they do count towards the national quota (provided they are German).
Season Notes
- After a member survey in the entire club, second division Bayern Munich significantly increased its budget and signed national coach Dirk Bauermann as coach. The current German national player Steffen Hamann as well as the former national players and European Championship silver medalists Demond Greene and Robert Garrett were signed as players. In addition, the former German champions Aleksandar Nađfeji and Jonathan Wallace as well as other former first division players were brought into the completely rebuilt squad, where ex-international Robert Maras was one of the few players who played for Bayern in the preseason.
- The webmoebel Baskets Paderborn were relegated from the basketball Bundesliga 2009/10 . The second sporting relegated Giants Düsseldorf received the first division license of the previous year's second Cuxhaven BasCats by wildcard , which had not submitted a first division license application due to a lack of prospect of success.
- The climbers from the ProB were: Dragons Rhöndorf and the Würzburg Baskets after the Hertener Löwen waived
- The match between the table top Bayern Munich and the table runner-up Würzburg Baskets on February 20, 2011 wanted to see 12,200 spectators in the sold-out Olympiahalle Munich . This is the absolute record number of spectators in the history of the 2nd Bundesliga. As a further novelty, the game was broadcast live on the television program of Bayerischer Rundfunk .
- Because of serious violations of the licensing procedure, the GiroLive-Ballers Osnabrück were revoked with immediate effect after the 27th and fourth last matchday. The games of Osnabrück were taken out of the rating. The USC Freiburg is disbarred retroactively after the end of the season and set the Freiburg end of the table.
- Bayern Munich won the championship with superiority and only lost two games: on the sixth matchday at the co-promoted Würzburg and on the penultimate matchday, irrelevant for Munich, with the first division relegated from Paderborn.
- As a newcomer, Würzburg Basket made the march from ProB 2009/10 to the first basketball league in 2011/12 .
- On matchday 21 in the 73:66 away win at BG Karlsruhe , Chris Alexander from ETB Wohnbau Baskets Essen scored the first and only triple double of the season on February 19, 2011 with 13 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. In the double doubles , Deilvez Yearby from the Cuxhaven BasCats led the statistics with 15 in 29 games (including a game against the GiroLive-Ballers). Sanijay Wattes from the Dragons Rhöndorf also had 15 in 30 games (including both comparisons against the GiroLive-Ballers).
