Rajecká Lesná (until 1948 "Frývald-Trstená" - to 1927 "Trstená-Frývald" German Friewald , Hungarian Frivaldnádas - until 1907 Trsztyennafrivald ) is a municipality in the north-west Slovakia , in the Žilinská kotlina ( Žilina boiler ) near the river Rajčianka , at the foot the Little Fatra .
The village is about five kilometers south of Rajec and 25 kilometers from Žilina . It is a place of pilgrimage with the Basilica of the Birth of the Virgin Mary .
The community was created by the union of the places Frývald and Trstená , which lies further west across the Rajčianka. Frývald was first mentioned as Friwald in 1413 .
The Lesnianka flows through the main town and then flows into the Rajčianka.
