The place probably originated as a subject place in the 13th century and was first mentioned in writing in 1362 as Koblen . The place has belonged to the estate of the Strečno Castle since its inception . After the revelation of the Wesselényi conspiracy , the village became part of the new Teplička manor in 1683, from which the Gbelany manor was created in 1749, which included eight other villages in addition to the main town.
