Nezbudská Lúčka (until 1927 in Slovak also "Nezbud Lúčka"; in Hungarian Óváralja - until 1907 Nezbudlucska ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia with 394 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in Okres Žilina , a district of Žilinský kraj .

The municipality is located in the eastern part of the Žilinská kotlina basin at the foot of the Little Fatra on the right bank of the Váh , right at the outflow from the Domašínsky meander , a bottleneck through the Little Fatra. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 360 m nm and is three kilometers from Rajecké Teplice and 12 kilometers from Žilina .
Neighboring municipalities are Varín in the north, Krasňany in the northeast, Sučany in the east, Lipovec in the south and Strečno in the west and northwest.
history
Nezbudská Lúčka was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1439 as Vapena Lucska and, as a subject village, was part of what is now the so-called Starý hrad (literally Old Castle) estate. The word Vapena refers to the lime burners present in the village at the time, who supplied lime for the castle and construction projects in the area. Today's adjective Nezbudská was given to it after the first testator, a Sillein citizen named Nezabud . In 1828 there were 26 houses and 221 inhabitants who were employed as raftsmen, lumberjacks and farmers.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. Until 1942, asphalt was mined near the village.
From 1960 to 1990 Nezbudská Lúčka was part of Strečno on the opposite bank of the Waag.

According to the 2011 census, Nezbudská Lúčka had 394 residents, including 368 Slovaks , six Czechs and one Bulgarian . 19 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
337 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, two residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident each to the Evangelical Church AB, the Greek Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church; three residents professed a different denomination. 16 residents had no denomination and 33 residents had no denomination.

In Nezbudská Lúčka, the Strečno stop is on the Košice – Žilina railway line ; Long-distance trains stop at Žilina station . There is a road in the direction of Varín with a connection to the 2nd order road 583. There is a pedestrian bridge and a car ferry across the Waag to Strečno (connection to the 1st order road 18 ).
