Dolný Hričov (Hungarian Alsóricsó , until 1907 Alsóhricsó ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia with 1618 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in Okres Žilina , a district of Žilinský kraj .
geography
The village is located in the Bytčianska kotlina basin on the Waag corridor between the Súľovské vrchy mountains on the left bank and Javorníky on the right bank. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 316 m nm and is seven kilometers from Bytča and 12 kilometers from Žilina .
The municipality is divided into parts of Dolný Hričov and Peklina (incorporated in 1992).
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1208 as Rizoi , still together with the neighboring village Horný Hričov . It is mentioned as inferior Herichou in 1282 and belongs to the estate of the nearby Hričov Castle , later to that of Bytča. There was a Meierhof and a toll booth until the end of the 16th century.
In 1828 there are 70 houses and 637 inhabitants. In 1921, a large part of the village was destroyed by fire.

- Roman Catholic Church of St. Michael from the 14th century, in a mixed Romanesque-Gothic style

Infrastructure
The basic infrastructure of the place is well developed. There is a primary school with a kindergarten, a library and a cultural center in the village. The Žilina airport is located in the municipality . There is also a stop on the Bratislava – Žilina railway line . The town can be reached by road via State Road 18 or via the D3 motorway ; In the future, a motorway triangle between the D1 and D3 motorways is to be built here.
