Turie (until 1948 Slovak "Turo" - until 1927 "Turo Tridvory"; Hungarian Háromudvar - until 1907 Turótridvori ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia with 2036 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to Okres Žilina , part of Žilinský kraj heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the southern part of the Žilinská kotlina basin at the foot of the Little Fatra . The Turiansky creek flows through the village and flows into the Rajčianka . The center of the village is at an altitude of 440 m nm and is ten kilometers south of Žilina .
history
Turie was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1386, the former municipality of Tri Dvory not until 1436. Both belonged to the estate of Lietava Castle . After 1877 the two places merged into one community.
1980-1990 Turie was part of the city of Žilina.
