Fačkov (German Fatschenhau , Hungarian Facskó or older Facsko ) is a municipality in the central Slovak Kraj Žilina .
geography
It is located in the Rajčianka valley at the foot of the Little Fatra and Strážovské vrchy , under the Fačkov pass named after the place (pass height 802 m), between the towns of Žilina (26 km) and Prievidza (28 km).
history
The place was first mentioned in 1351. One of the sights is the church of St. Nicholas from the 17th century. The place is also a starting point for hikes in the Little Fatra.
